Where to Stay

Aboard the Lady of Avenel tall ship

A unique experience for our 50th anniversary Festival!

Stay on board the Lady of Avenel tall ship for the Friday and Saturday nights of the Festival weekend (Fri 2nd and Sat 3rd May 2025).

The beautiful 102ft Brigantine square rigger will be moored at Girvan Harbour and you’ll be hosted by the fantastic Sessions and Sail crew. Accommodation will be provided in one of 6 comfortable twin berth cabins. All bed linen is provided and guests will have access to the ship’s well-equipped galley, shared shower and bathroom, and spacious saloon for relaxation.

Buy a Weekend Ticket(s) with Lady of Avenel single cabin or double cabin to access this extremely limited offer.

  The small print!

  • This offer includes accommodation for Friday and Saturday nights only as the Sessions and Sail Firth of Clyde 2025 cruise will depart Girvan late afternoon on Sunday 4th. If you require accommodation for the final night of the Festival please get in touch and we’ll try our best to help.
  • Accessibility once on board the Lady of Avenel is generally good but please note that access may be problematic for anyone anyone with anything more than mild mobility issues as:
    • depending on the state of the tide access to the ship may be via a short ladder
    • there are 12 steep steps between the deck and the cabin area
  • The ship’s saloon will host afternoon singarounds, tune sessions and storytelling at different points during the Festival weekend but to ensure everyone can enjoy a restful night’s sleep, we kindly ask guests to refrain from late-night music-making (there’ll be plenty of that going on in the pubs and hotels anyway!).

If you have any questions about life aboard the Lady of Avenel please email Sessions and Sail Skipper Barry Nisbet.

Please note these are public facilities and the Festival has no role in their delivery

  Caravans

Caravans can use the Shalloch Car Park for the duration of the Festival. Shalloch car park is a 20 minute walk from the town centre along the shore via Edmiston Drive and Stair Park. David’s snack bar at the car park operates 8am–4pm.
