Ayrshire tunes for joining in!

We’d really love it if you could come and play some tunes at the Festival weekend.

We’re plan to theme our Sunday afternoon event on tunes from (or inspired by) Ayrshire. So if you have a tune or set of tunes you play that would fit the bill then that would be fantastic. There’ll be an house band to support anyone who is up for joining in and the idea is to have a totally supportive and fun environment.

We’d also love it if you were up for having a go at one or two or some (or most?) of these old and mostly forgotten Ayrshire tunes…

Practice recordings

Here are some basic recordings to help you get to know and practice the tunes.

There’s no need to copy any of the ornamentation or double stopping here. These recordings are to help you hear the bones of the tune and what it could be in terms of phrasing mostly.
