An Artist’s Inspiration – Film & talk

Sunday 4th May, 15:30
Wee School Art Space

Film-maker Michael Lloyd offers a new perspective on iconic folklorist and poet, Hamish Henderson, through the eyes of artist, Charles Nasmyth. The film explores Nasmyth’s decision to paint Hamish and along the way addresses Hamish’s creativity and his centrality to the Folk Revival and Scottish culture more widely.

The film will be followed by a short talk by Dr Fred Freeman. Fred is the author of numerous books on Scottish culture & the tradition and the organiser of the ground-breaking, multi-volume recording projects The Complete Songs of Robert Burns and The Complete Songs of Robert Tannahill.
