See the Ship!

Saturday 3rd May – 1:00pm
The Lady of Avenel Tall Ship @ Giravn Harbour

Come on board the beautiful 102ft Brigantine rigger The Lady of Avenel. Let the crew show you what life on a boat is like. Hear some fiddle tunes just like those they play on the high seas and have your face painted by our resident face painter.

Afterwards come below decks to the ships saloon to hear Carrick’s oldest and spookiest folktale, The Laird of Changue, told by storyteller David Duncan. If you’re not too spooked after hearing the tale you can come along to Girvan shore the following night to see the story re-enacted in spectacular style by CRAG Community Arts.
